Jay: Alright. My guest tonight is no stranger to talk shows. He's the host of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" right here on NBC. Say hello to Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy, how are you, buddy?
Jimmy: Hey, everybody. How you doing? Thanks for having me on, Jay.
Jay: Alright, ten questions. First one, what was your first movie role?
Jimmy: My first movie role was - I was in the movie "Father's Day" with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams. And I got a letter from Ivan Reitman the week before it came out telling me that I got cut from the movie. But my mom and everyone in my hometown still went to go see the movie because my arm was in the movie, and they clapped for my arm.
Jay: Very good, very good. Alright, question number two. Have you ever been fired?
Jimmy: No, why. What - have you heard something?
Jay: No, just a little paranoia around here.
Jimmy: No, I was fired from my first job. I was 15, I was a bag boy, and there was a rumor that I was doing whippits. But it's never been proven in court. So, I can't comment about that.
Jay: Alright. Number three, what is the oddest gift you have ever received from a guest?
Jimmy: Oddest gift would be - it wasn't really odd, but Stevie Nicks came on the show, and she gave me a bottle that I was supposed to blow my dreams into.
Jay: How'd that work out?
Jimmy: I didn't have one of those, so it was kind of a good gift. And when Robert De Niro came on. He was my first guest. He gave me a disease where I sweat a lot and stutter a lot.
Jay: Oh, wow. Very good. Number four, what is the worst review you've ever read about yourself?
Jimmy: It was on "Ain't It Cool News." Some guy reviewed my movie, said that he would rather drop his DVD player on his nutsack than watch any of my movies. So I stopped making movies just to save this man's nuts.
Jay: Mine was "Mr. Leno's head resembles a piece of urban folk art."
Jimmy: It kind of does.
Jay: Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Let's move on. Number five, you started as a stand-up comedian. You're known for your impressions. In 30 seconds, can you do five impressions? Start the clock right now.
Jimmy: Yes. Robin Williams. [as Robin Williams] "Oh, thank you very much. Yes, thank you. Yes, what the hell's going on there?" Thank you. Next up, Bill Cosby. [as Bill Cosby] "Well, don't you know, to be a comedian, you've got to have the pies in the face and go to the dentist." Jerry Seinfeld. [as Jerry Seinfeld] "Okay, people. What's going on? Come on." Next up, Gilbert Gottfried. [as Gilbert Gottfried] "What is this? I don't know what's going on." Adam Sandler. [as Adam Sandler] "Shut up!"
Jay: Very good, very good. Alright. Number six, ever steal towels from a hotel?
Jimmy: No. My friend actually collects towels, and they made me steal towels from a hotel once because they collect them. And then it was at the Bel-Air Hotel in California, and they found out about it and charged, like, $500.
So Donald Trump, you owe me $500.
Jay: Number seven, do you have any phobias?
Jimmy: I'm afraid of Australia.
Jay: What?
Jimmy: They have these spiders that live in pools that can kill you. And then, if you go to the ocean, there are sharks that can kill you. And then I'm afraid of Paul Hogan, Crocodile Dundee.
Jay: Number eight, tell us your worst audition.
Jimmy: I auditioned for the movie - the lead in the movie "Precious," and I didn't get it. I haven't taken the weight off either.
Jay: Number nine, if Letterman and I were both drowning, who would you save?
Jimmy: I would save you both, and then I would make you into a raft because I can't swim.
Jay: Alright, number ten...
Jimmy: Where are you swimming together, you and Dave?
Jay: I don't know. I was just trying to figure that out. Skinny dipping actually. Now, your show, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," has been on for almost a year. What is something nobody knows about your show?
Jimmy: Oh, okay. I got a good secret about my show. This is the same studio that Johnny Carson was in when he did "The Tonight Show" for ten years from New York, and before that, it was Jack Paar's studio. And so this is - we're going to go backstage. He had Jim Henson on the show and the Muppets, like, in the early '60s when they were basically getting their start. Because there's a lot of time between dress rehearsal and air, they painted the
pipes in the janitor's closet. And look at this. And so we made this part of the NBC tour. It was in a dressing room. You can see they've drawn eyeballs on it and all that stuff. This is just in the hallway down here. If you look down there, it says "With love, from the Muppets."
Jay: And Jim Henson actually did those, huh? And is that your beer can?
Jimmy: Yeah, he did that with Frank Oz. Yeah, and then underneath there, there's a can of Budweiser from the '70s.
Jay: Wow.
Jimmy: Probably left from some crew guy.
Jay: Jimmy, thank you very much, buddy. We'll be watching tonight. Jimmy Fallon!
